Create an Injective Wallet:
Let’s begin using Injective, the speed of light layer 1 blockchain designed for DeFi apps, by setting up an Injective Wallet.
What Is An Injective Wallet?
The Injective Wallet is like your personal command center for everything related to Injective and its network apps. It lets you easily handle both native tokens on the Injective platform and assets from other supported networks like Ethereum, Polkadot, Solana, and chains compatible with IBC. When you link your favorite non-custodial wallet (like Keplr, MetaMask, Ledger, Ninji, etc.) to the Injective chain, the Injective Wallet gets set up automatically. Plus, you can also import your Injective wallet address to other compatible non-custodial wallets for smooth access across different platforms. This flexibility ensures you can manage your assets hassle-free from various wallets.
How To Create an Injective Wallet
Setting up an Injective Wallet is super simple, just two steps:
1. Get a non-custodial crypto wallet.
2. Connect it to Injective through the Injective Hub. That’s it!
Here’s how to create an Injective Wallet in two simple steps:
Step 1: Download a crypto wallet
To start, grab a non-custodial crypto wallet compatible with Injective. You can choose from MetaMask, Ninji, Keplr, Ledger, Trezor, Torus, Leap, or Cosmostation.
Step 2: Connect your wallet to Injective
For this guide, let’s use MetaMask, Ledger, Ninji, Keplr, Leap, Cosmostation, Torus, or Trezor as wallet connectors.
Head over to the Injective Hub, the central platform that lets you engage with Injective’s ecosystem.
Simply click on the “Connect” button located at the top-right corner. A list of supported wallets will appear. For each hot wallet (one that’s always online), you’ll find a download button next to it. Just click the download button, and it will take you to the download page. Easy as that!
To connect to Injective with MetaMask
MetaMask is the top self-custodial wallet used by millions globally. You can access your Ethereum wallet through a browser extension or mobile app. Just click on MetaMask to connect. After connecting, your crypto wallet will automatically receive an INJ wallet address, which you’ll find at the top right of the page, starting with “inj”.
To expand and view the equivalent address in Ethereum, simply click the arrow on the right side. You’ll find the “Disconnect” option there as well.
To connect to Injective with Ninji
The Ninji Wallet is a flexible crypto wallet created specifically for the Injective ecosystem. It’s crafted to streamline users’ experience with Injective. With Ninji Wallet, you can easily send and receive assets, optimize crypto gains through in-wallet staking, and ensure privacy and security effortlessly. To download Ninji, simply click the download button next to it, and you’ll be directed to the download page.
Once you have Ninji installed, get started by either creating a new wallet with your own new passphrase, or restoring a wallet by importing existing passphrase.
After the wallet setup, you will be able to connect Ninji Wallet on Injective Hub, as well as other dApps built on Injective.
To connect to Injective with Keplr
Keplr is the pioneering non-custodial crypto wallet designed to back the IBC and the Cosmos ecosystem. Similar steps apply for other Cosmos wallets like Leap and Cosmostation. Once connected, you can see your Injective wallet address at the top right corner.
connect to Injective with Leap
Leap serves as the crypto wallet for Cosmos blockchains, providing smooth navigation across various chains, asset transfers, staking rewards, and more.
connect to Injective with Cosmostation
Cosmostation functions as a non-custodial wallet for Cosmos SDK-based chains, supported by Cosmostation, a Cosmos validator and ecosystem provider.
connect to Injective with Ledger
Ledger is a hardware wallet where you securely store your private keys in an offline environment. Using a hardware wallet can enhance security for users by allowing them to manage crypto assets without exposing sensitive information to potentially compromised computers or networks. Before connecting your Ledger device to Injective Hub, make sure you have the latest version of the Ethereum app installed and that blind signing is enabled on the Ethereum app. Click “connect Ledger,” then select the default option “Ledger Live” when the derivation path pop-up appears, and finally select “Get addresses.”
A drop-down with your Ledger Live ETH address will appear. Ensure the address matching your Ledger Live ETH account is selected, then click “Connect”. Once connected to the Injective Hub, a newly created INJ address will appear in the top right corner.
For more detailed steps, please check this guide on Ledger Docs.
To connect to Injective with Torus
Torus is a non-custodial wallet developed by Web3Auth, enabling users to effortlessly create their own wallets using their Google, Facebook, Twitter, Discord, or email addresses. This eliminates the need for seed phrases, streamlining the wallet creation process.
Select your preferred social account to login and get your Injective wallet address
To connect to Injective with Trezor
Just like Ledger, Trezor is a hardware wallet designed for storing crypto assets securely. Before connecting your Trezor to Injective Hub, make sure you’re using the latest version of Chrome, have your Trezor device connected and unlocked, and have the Trezor Bridge installed on your device. Click “connect Trezor,” then click “Get addresses” to proceed.
Then you are going to see the following screen. Click on “Find Trezor” and confirm on the popup on Chrome if this is the first time you are connecting your Trezor device.
Once you’ve connected your Trezor to the Trezor Bridge, you’ll have the option to connect with either your Standard Wallet, which doesn’t require a secret passphrase, or the Hidden Wallet, where you’ll need to enter your secret passphrase. After completing this step, close the page and return to the hub. Click on “Get Addresses” again, and you’ll encounter the following screen. Click on “Allow once for this Session,” then proceed to “Export” the “Standard Wallet” or the “Hidden Wallet” as you did previously.
Finally, select your Ethereum address from the dropdown list on the Hub and click “Connect”. You’ll then see that you are connected to the Hub using your Trezor wallet.
