## Who Qualifies for the Pre-registration Whitelist?

At Injective, we value our vibrant community, and it’s only fitting that the most active members lead the way in our pre-registration phase.

To kickstart this exciting journey, we’ve organized a series of quests and external campaigns in collaboration with our valued ecosystem partners across various platforms. Participants who have engaged in these quests and emerged victorious in giveaway campaigns hosted by Injective partners will find themselves on the pre-registration whitelist.

For each “INJ ID Quest” OAT Badge earned (INJ ID Quest 1, INJ ID Quest 2, INJ ID Quest 3), or every giveaway campaign triumph, you gain the privilege to pre-register one .inj domain name. The more OATs you accumulate and the more giveaway campaigns you conquer, the greater the number of .inj domain names you can secure for yourself!

Note: Each address is entitled to a maximum bid quota of five domain names. Even if one address secures more than five spots, the limit remains five.

## Participating in the INJ Domain Pre-registration Event

The INJ domain pre-registration event unfolds in two stages: the auction stage and the first-come-first-serve (FCFS) registration stage. This dual-phase approach ensures fairness while mitigating the influence of automated bots.

### Auction Stage

The pre-registration commences with a dynamic five-day auction stage, exclusively accessible to whitelisted addresses with a maximum bid quota of five. Here’s a detailed breakdown of the process, pricing, and the perks on offer:

• During this stage, early users can place bids on newly available domain names and continue bidding on existing ones.
• Bidding on existing names within the “My Bids” section doesn’t consume your bid quota.
• The minimum bid price for a new bid must exceed 105% of the previous bid.
• If your bid is outdone by others, you have the option to either keep bidding on that name or receive an immediate refund. Opting for a refund means forfeiting the bid quota for bidding on another name.
• Winning an auction secures your right to register the domain name. The registration can be for one year (default) or an extended duration. Notably, the first-year registration is free, as its cost is embedded within the auction.
• In the final 15 minutes of the auction, each new bid resets the remaining auction time to 15 minutes, ensuring a fair and competitive process.

### Domain Name Pricing

Early participants in the pre-registration stage are in for some exciting discounts, applicable for multiple years:

• The initial bid prices for 3/4/5+ character names are set at $180/$40/$4.5 worth in INJ, corresponding to the discounted one-year registration rates.
• 3-character names: $180/year (after a 40% discount, originally $300/year)
• 4-character names: $40/year (after a 20% discount, originally $50/year)
• 5 characters and more: $4.5/year (no discount)

### First-Come-First-Serve (FCFS) Stage

Following the conclusion of the Auction stage, the FCFS phase begins. This stage spans five days and allows auction winners to register the .inj names they secured. Simultaneously, other participants can register remaining names on a FCFS basis, according to their remaining quota.

• For instance, if you bid for five names in the auction and win two, the three remaining bid quotas transform into “Register Quota,” usable in the FCFS registration phase.
• If you didn’t partake in the auction or didn’t secure any names, your entire bid quota remains valid, converting into “Register Quota.”

### Format Requirements for Domain Names

When selecting your INJ domain name, keep these formatting requirements in mind:

• Name Length: Each domain name should consist of a minimum of three characters.
• Case Sensitivity: Only lowercase letters are permissible; capital letters are not supported.
• Special Characters: Characters like “:” and “/” are not supported, although “-” is acceptable.
• Emojis: In general, emojis are supported, expanding your creative possibilities.
• Different Languages: INJ domain names are designed to accommodate various languages, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.

## Reserved .inj Domain Names

In addition to the open registration pool, we’ve set aside a collection of .inj domain names exclusively reserved for partners and dApps within the Injective ecosystem. These domains are not available for public registration.
