Introduction:

Injective is ushering in a new era in the digital domain space with the launch of the world’s first native .inj domains in collaboration with SPACE ID. As the highly anticipated pre-registration event approaches, let’s delve into the intricacies of this groundbreaking development and the opportunities it brings to the Injective ecosystem.

A Brief Background on INJ Domain Names:

INJ ID is at the forefront of revolutionizing domain name services by introducing .inj domain names on the Injective platform, powered by SPACE ID 3.0 infrastructure. This decentralized naming system is set to become an integral part of the rapidly expanding Injective ecosystem. Soon, individuals will have the chance to own their unique native INJ domain names for use across wallets, websites, decentralized applications (dApps), and more within the Injective network.

Benefits of Owning INJ Domain Names:

The advantages of owning INJ domain names are manifold:

1. Establishing Web3 Brand Identity: INJ domain names empower users to create a distinct Web3 brand identity.

2. Simplifying Transactions: Instead of complex wallet addresses, users can use short and memorable .inj domain names for seamless cryptocurrency, NFT, and digital asset transactions.

Who Qualifies for the Pre-registration Whitelist?

The most active members of the Injective community receive top priority in the pre-registration process. To initiate the pre-registration phase, a series of quests and external campaigns have been organized by Injective partners across various platforms. Participants in these quests and campaign winners will secure a spot on the pre-registration whitelist.

Each “INJ ID Quest” OAT Badge claimed and each successful campaign giveaway win will grant the opportunity to pre-register one .inj domain name. The more OATs you accumulate and the more giveaways you win, the greater the number of .inj domain names you can secure for yourself. It’s important to note that there is a maximum bid quota of five domain names per address, even if an address has won more than five spots.

How to Participate in the inj Domain Pre-registration Event:

The INJ domain pre-registration unfolds in two stages: the auction stage and the first-come-first-serve (FCFS) registration stage. These stages aim to ensure fairness in the registration process while preventing bot activities.

Auction Stage:

• During this five-day stage, whitelisted addresses can bid on both new and existing names.

• Bidding on existing names under the “My Bids” section won’t consume your bid quota.

• Bids on new names must be at least 105% of the previous bid.

• If you’re outbid by others, you can choose to continue bidding or receive an immediate refund.

• Winning an auction grants you the right to register the name, with the first-year registration fee included in the auction.

• In the final 15 minutes of the auction, new bids reset the remaining auction time to 15 minutes.

Domain Name Pricing:

Discounts are offered during pre-registration for early users:

• 3-character names start at $180/year, reduced from $300/year (40% discount).

• 4-character names start at $40/year, reduced from $50/year (20% discount).

• 5 characters and more are priced at $4.5/year with no discount.

First-Come-First-Serve (FCFS) Stage:

The FCFS phase follows the auction stage and lasts for five days. Auction winners can register the .inj names they secured, while others can register names based on their remaining quota.

For instance, if you bid for 5 names in the auction and won 2, the other 3 bid quotas will become “Register Quota” for use in the FCFS phase. If you didn’t participate in the auction or win any names, your bid quota remains valid for the FCFS phase.

Format Requirement of Domain Names:

• Each domain name must be at least 3 characters in length.

• Domain names are case-sensitive, allowing only lowercase letters (no capital letters).

• Special characters such as “:”, “/” are not supported, but “-” is allowed.

• Emojis and different languages are generally supported.

Reserved .inj Domain Names:

Certain .inj domain names are reserved exclusively for partners and dApps within the Injective ecosystem. These domains will not be available for public registration. This decision stems from the potential these names hold in accelerating the adoption of .inj names and enhancing the community experience.

What’s Next?

Public registration, accessible to everyone, will commence once the two phases of pre-registration conclude. Furthermore, .inj domain trading will be supported on NFT marketplaces within the Injective network, including Talis. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting development.

The .inj domain name service is poised to become the decentralized identity standard across the Injective ecosystem and its myriad dApps. This journey has been made possible by the dedication of our vibrant community. We can’t wait to witness the names that will emerge during the pre-registration event, and we look forward to welcoming you there soon!

In conclusion, Injective’s foray into the world of .inj domains marks a significant milestone in the evolution of Web3, providing users with unprecedented opportunities for personalization and simplification of transactions within the Injective ecosystem. The future of decentralized identity is here, and it’s .inj!
